I’ve been exploring cabins with hot tubs near Grand Lake, Oklahoma, and I’ve discovered something.
People really, really like sitting in warm water outside.
Frankly, I understand.
There’s something wonderful about finishing a day at Grand Lake or exploring Route 66, slipping into warm water, looking up at the stars and realizing absolutely nobody needs anything from you for the next hour.

Our themed cabins have private outdoor soaking tubs, rather than traditional continuously heated hot tubs.

The beauty of a soaking tub is that you choose the experience and the temperature.
Our tubs don’t need to sit continuously heated and circulating between uses. They’re filled fresh for your soak, and because they’re not maintained as traditional hot tubs, you’re not climbing into continuously treated hot-tub water.
Simple water. Your temperature. Your soak.
Covered Above, Stars Beyond
We also tucked our soaking tubs beneath covered outdoor areas.
That means a little Oklahoma rain doesn’t necessarily cancel the plan. You’re sheltered from the weather while still enjoying the woods, fresh air and open night sky around you.
At Mission Base, you can finish your day with a tactical retreat into the soaking tub before settling around your private firepit.
Over at Stumble Rock Inn, Sheriff Whimsy has provided his own version of frontier hydrotherapy: the private Jail House Soaking Tub. Apparently even outlaws need to unwind.
And when Bedrock Grotto and Castaway Treescape join the adventure, they’ll have soaking tubs of their own.
Why Do We Love an Outdoor Soak?
Because the tub isn’t really the point.
The pause is.
It’s morning coffee and a warm soak when the woods are still quiet.
