Something strange is happening around Grand Lake this October.
Pumpkins are grinning, ghosts are gathering, and perfectly respectable grown-ups are preparing to wander around dressed as witches, skeletons, and inflatable dinosaurs.
Naturally, I approve.
Word around the woods here at Whimsy Waypoint is that Halloween 2026 is shaping up to be a frightfully fun time! I’ve been snooping around Vinita, Grove, Jay, and the surrounding countryside, and I’ve uncovered some spooky adventures worth crawling out of your crypt for.

👻 Haunted Village at Har-Ber Village | October 30–31
History gets a haunting makeover at Har-Ber Village Museum in Grove!
Wander among historic pioneer buildings, discover spooky folklore, and enjoy Halloween displays and candy trails. It’s a delightful blend of old-fashioned history and Halloween fun.
When: October 30–31, with evening hours listed from 5:30–8:30 PM.

🎃 Twilight BOOtanical Trail | October 24
Who says gardens are only for flowers and butterflies?
Lendonwood Gardens in Grove is getting into the Halloween spirit with its spooky trail celebration. This one sounds perfect for families who enjoy a little Halloween atmosphere without having their socks scared clean off.

🍬 Family Fun Fest in Vinita | October 28
Not every Halloween adventure requires ghosts jumping out of bushes!
First Baptist Church in Vinita is hosting a free Family Fun Fest with games, snacks, and plenty of candy. It’s a wonderful opportunity for little monsters, superheroes, and princesses to enjoy some hometown Halloween fun.

🍂 Wolf Creek Harvest Fest | October 31
Halloween night in Grove is bringing out the community spirit!
Head to Wolf Creek Park for hayrides, trunk-or-treating, games, food, and candy. Local churches, businesses, and nonprofits are joining forces to make this a family-friendly Halloween celebration.

🚙 Crawl-O-Ween in Disney | October 31
Now THIS is Halloween with horsepower!
Over in Disney, Oklahoma, Crawl-O-Ween combines the Halloween spirit with the area’s famous rocky off-road terrain. If your idea of adventure involves four-wheel-drive vehicles, rugged trails, and a little October excitement, this one’s calling your name.
